Background:

Leveraging off of more than 10 years’ experience as a lawyer and a career in marketing and brand management before that, Mat Jessep has established Game Corp to deliver focused legal, integrity, strategic commercial advice, and training and education programs to clients involved in Sports, Esports, and Pop Culture, as well as to Businesses and for new Start-Ups.

 

Though relatively new, Game Corp builds off Jessep’s solid international track record and reputation in sports and entertainment, and are uniquely positioned in the sports, esports, and pop culture sectors as a niche provider of commercial, governance, and legal services.

Team:

As a dedicated Sports lawyer, Jessep has acted for National Sporting Organisations, State Sporting Organisations, sponsors, broadcasters, and leagues and event operators. Jessep is a pioneer and leading lawyer and consultant in the fast-growing esports sector, acting for clients with interests in leagues and teams in Europe, North America, Australia, and Asia.  In the media and entertainment industries, Jessep has advised film producers, artists, authors, creatives, podcasters, streamers, and tech start-ups.

 

Venues:

Our Home Field is centrally located to Sydney's Sports, Arts, Fashion, and Entertainment precincts of Eastern Sydney.

In 2022 we opened our Sydney Olympic Park desk, servicing the organisations in and around the major Sports & Entertainment precinct of Olympic Park, Homebush, and Greater Western Sydney.  We are in Olympic Park every week.

While predominantly Sydney-based, we service clients all over Australia, as well as in North America, New Zealand, the UK, Europe, Japan, and South-East Asia.

How we work:

Clients are offered services on a traditional time-based billing basis, though fixed fees and value-based pricing is preferred. 

 

We also offer The Bench - outsourced in-house counsel advice for clients with ongoing legal needs without the constant expense of a full-time employed resource, saving headcount and giving clients cost certainty and value in their external legal spend.
